Bellagio in Lake Como
The accommodation at La Limonera was perfect, from the location right through to the view. The weather was perfect so I can't fault anything. The only recommendation I would provide to the operators of the residence is that it would be good to have a guide on the 'How To's ' for such things as telephone, air conditioning, etc. I made one phone call of around 3 minutes and it cost me A$30. An idea of these sort of costings would also be good. Apart from that, I can't fault it. I have already recommended Bellagio and La Limonera to family and friends.
Giardino Del Belvedere, near Arezzo:
Just thought I'd pass on what a wonderful time we all had at "Giardino Del Belvedere".
Our welcoming dinner proved to be one of the most memorable and enjoyable evenings I've ever had. Paulo and Anna were wonderful hosts treating us as long lost friends and Maria proved to be a terrific cook. The house was everything we could have wished for it felt like a home away from home and location gave us privacy while being close to all the delights of Tuscany. Many thanks for your efforts with the arrangements.

First of all the pick-up was waiting for us on arrival at Grosseto. We ended up leaving Rome later than first intended but notified the hotel of this. Consequently, we arrived after lunch at Hotel Antico and our room was ready. The hotel staff were very obliging and the accommodation was very clean and comfortable. They even delivered a tray of tea to our room. The room had a balcony overlooking the terrace and the stables.
We had a lovely taxi driver for our day trip but he couldn't speak English! Tara and I are hopeless at Italian so we had an interesting day! We travelled from 10.30-4 and visited Pitigliano, medieval, walled village where we first visited the Tourist office and got good maps and info about the area. He left us there for a few hours and we wandered the deserted, cobbled streets, exploring, shopping and had a delicious pizza. Talked for ages to an Italian teacher who had a group of students from northern Italy enjoying the pizza! Then we went onto several other surrounding villages, Sorano and Sovana, both smaller but just as lovely. Then the hot springs at Saturnia Too crowded and not very clean. The countryside was beautiful with many vineyards. The 200 E for the day was expensive but to hire a car would have cost just as much and the driver was very attentive and couldn't do enough for us. As there is no other transport it is a must! The massage was good as was the outdoor spa. Sixty euros for an 1hr was good value. The meals were excellent and we enjoyed the local wine. Such a lovely setting and so peaceful and fresh after Rome!
